Maryanne Colter is an executive leadership coach, senior change management consultant, and workplace strategist whose core areas of expertise encompass program management, process improvement, sustainability, and client/stakeholder relations. Having spent most of her career in multi-cultural, cross-functional, hybrid working environments, she brings proven success in helping organizations navigate complex scenarios, keeping all stakeholders engaged and aligned while transitioning to become more efficient, agile, and adaptive.

In 2021, Maryanne returned to professional coaching after a decade of corporate and consulting work, including internal roles, most recently at Morton Salt and previously at Deloitte and Accenture. During this period, she provided leadership development, project management, oversaw process improvement initiatives, and designed and implemented organizational transformation strategies. Before her positions at major consulting firms, she spent nine years as an independent consultant and coach, serving a diversified clientele across a broad spectrum of industries and market.

Maryanne’s key areas of expertise include:

  • Designing and implementing change management strategies for culture changes, organizational restructuring, or major technology changes
  • Designing learning and development programs, including curriculum and training material for personal growth or for enabling new skills
  • Designing and facilitating team effectiveness workshops, including coaching teams and team leaders to be effective in managing matrixed, multi-cultural, and hybrid/remote environments
  • Facilitation of Executive Steering Committee or Project Portfolio Committee alignment sessions
  • Facilitation of Executive or Project Team blending workshops, leveraging personality assessments to increase team effectiveness
  • Coaching new managers transitioning from individual contributor to team leader

Maryanne has spent her career bringing leading edge technologies and methods into organizations to manifest positive change. She has been a sought-after mentor to the next generation of leaders. In addition to mentoring and teaching in a corporate environment, she has also been a panelist on leadership topics and a frequent guest lecturer at Loyola University Chicago, led Project Management and Leadership sessions for Public Allies, and coached new managers for Cara Chicago.

From her studies at Loyola, Maryanne earned membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society and was awarded the Loyola President’s Medallion, awarded to one student in each college annually for demonstrating excellence in leadership, scholarship, and service.

Education And Professional Associations

Maryanne graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts. She received a Master in Business Administration Degree in Management and Business Ethics from the Loyola University Chicago Quinlan Graduate School of Business.

Maryanne has held an Integral Coaching Certification from New Ventures West since 2008,. She has held a Project Management Professional (PMP) Credential from the Project Management Institute since 2011. Maryanne considers herself a life-long-learner and has an additional 200+ hours of continuing education credits for Change Management, Coaching, and Project Management.

She is a member of the International Coaching Federation Global and Chicagoland Chapters, the International Coaching Federation Global and Chicagoland Chapters, and the Association of Change Management Professionals. She is also a member of Conscious Capitalism and Net Impact, both of which promote “doing good while doing well” within the business community.
