Stephen (Steve) Fallek is a seasoned leader, consultant, and coach who works with executives and their senior teams to improve leadership and management practices. He helps them build a character-based culture that provides an environment of trust and care to foster strong relationships among customers, suppliers, and employees for the collaboration that creates the innovative solutions to drive sustained profitability.
Steve has expertise in strategic performance management, including the disciplines of strategic planning, market analysis, and performance measurement. He has over 35 years experience guiding top executives to speed the execution of strategy through better communication and measurement.
Experience and Expertise
Prior to joining The Executive Edge®, Steve was in executive management with leading insurance industry companies headquartered in the Chicago area. He began this career with eight years in various market research and planning positions at CNA Insurance. He joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in its planning department and rose to become director of planning. After twelve years with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield organization, he moved to Zurich Insurance to lead its planning department. During 17 years with Zurich, Steve was elected as a corporate vice-president and played leadership roles in two organizational transformations. Throughout his career, Steve has worked directly with top executives of major organizations. He guided enterprise and division level teams through group problem solving and consensus building to create breakthrough strategies and action plans that improved performance and profitability. Education and Professional Associations
Steve earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Michigan, with concentrations in marketing and business economics. He also completed a number of graduate level finance courses at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, Steve was a member of the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County from 1999 until 2006, serving as Chairman (two terms) and Vice-Chairman (one term). The Board is a business-led coalition of private and public sector members that creates alliances to build a talent pool that attracts and sustains businesses.

Steve and his wife live in the heart of downtown Chicago where they take an active interest in the architecture and culture the city has to offer. They like to travel and are especially fond of Italy. Steve plays duplicate bridge and enjoys driving sports cars.
